Margaret Long Obituary

Margaret Mary (O'Brien) Long

Margaret "Peggy" Mary (O'Brien) Long was born to Michael O'Brien of County Clare and Mary (Gilmore) O'Brien of County Mayo on June 30, 1918. Her family moved to Seattle in 1922 where she and her three brothers and three sisters were raised. She graduated from Holy Names Academy and married the love of her life, Richard Long. Together they created a beautiful life which included their son Rick, and daughters Kathy and Barb. She was retired from Pacific Northwest Bell where she worked for over 30 years.

Peggy lived a long and wonderful life among her large Irish Catholic family.

She passed away peacefully and comfortably after bravely fighting several health issues at the age of 95.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick, her son Rick and her siblings May, Bill, Ed, Pat and Jack. She is survived by her sister Joan, her daughters Kathy and Barb, her grandchildren Shannon, Erin, Katy and Nick & her great-grandchildren Glacia and Otto.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

We will add her name to our memorial Mass in Irish. It is celebrated every October in Seattle as part of the ongoing activities of the Irish Heritage Club.
May her soul pass through the country of her birth and may St Patrick hold the gate of Heaven open for her!

Grandma-
You were such a tough cookie there in the end and I'm really happy to know that there are no more sniffly tears needed- you are back with the loves of your life now.
Don't worry about us, we are going to be great. We're happy that you're out of that body and that you've joined your party. I've got a lot of memories from all 30 years that give me smiles.
Give Grandpa and Rick the biggest hug and kiss from me. I so look forward to you guys visiting me in my dreams.
I love you, I'll miss you but I know I'll see you again.
xoxo
