Mark Snow Obituary

Mark Allen SNOW Mark Allen Snow was born to Robert and Dora Snow at West Seattle Hospital on August 28, 1948. In his youth, he developed a love of sports and academics that would last him the rest of his life; Mark excelled at both. Once as a little league baseball player he pitched a perfect game. This so angered the opposing coach that this coach baited Mark to try to strike him out. He did, and in a fit a adolescent angst his next pitch struck the coach's helmet, splitting it and knocking the hot head coach out cold. While a chemistry student at University of Washington, he was barred from competing in academic competition because he could identify compounds and molecules so quickly that the professors felt it wasn't fair to the other students. Men were envious and women swooned. Mark had many loves in his life; his family and friends, sports, and collecting sports cards, and coins. He was a large powerful man with a vast knowledge of many things, a singular wit, and a great laugh. Mark's love of life pulled all kinds of people towards him, and his warmth, understanding, compassion, and love made many stay til the end. Mark Allen Snow passed awayin the late morning sun of November 8, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital; surrounded by friends and family. He is survived by his Father Robert, his step mother Josephine, his sister Barbara Johnson, niece Tessa Wilson, his sons Dustin and Shane, Shane's wife Mallory, the love of his life Cindy, Wayne Walton who was his best friend and care giver to the end, and many, many friends. We will all remember, love, and miss you.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I only wish that I could have known and had contact with my cousin Mark over the years. I would love to see Uncle Bob and Barbara again after not seeing them for such a long time. I would also enjoy meeting his sons.

Such a beautifully written, loving memorial to your Father, Shane. Thank you for sharing his life with us. I will always remember how kind and friendly he always was to me when I called to speak to Mallory, even though he was frequently in a lot of physical pain. I knew he was brilliant, but pitching a perfect game! Ay, caramba!!!
