Mary Elizabeth Guppy

Mary Elizabeth GUPPY Mary Elizabeth Guppy, daughter of Pauline Guppy, died April 25, 2009. Mary, a Down Syndrome baby, was born on Mother's Day, May 12, 1957, in Evanston, Illinois while her father, William A. Guppy was at tending Loyola University in Chica go. The family returned to Seattle in 1958 after the now Dr. Guppy completed his studies. The Guppys are grateful to the family of Frank and Joyce Pearce who lovingly cared for Mary Beth through much of her childhood. After the death of Mrs. Pearce, Mary was admitted to Fircrest School where she lived for more than 24 years. The Guppy family would also like to thank the dedicated staff at Fircrest School. The level of devotion and care Mary received from them greatly enhanced her quality of life. A memorial service was held for Mary in the chapel at Fircrest on April 30 and was attended by mem bers of her family and many of the staff who know her well.
