Maxine Neel Obituary
Maxine Elizabeth Harris Neel, age 97, passed away on 10/21/2017. Maxine was predeceased by her husband Stewart Gaby Neel and a great grandson, Alexander Hamilton. Maxine is survived by her five children; Thomas, Patricia, Elizabeth, Susan and Michael, along with nine (9) grandchildren and seven (7) great grandchildren.
Maxine graduated from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and received her Master's Degree in Education from Seattle Pacific University. Maxine's teaching career began in Virginia, and continued with the Seattle Public School District. Maxine was active in the ADK Teachers sorority and held numerous leadership roles. A life-long learner, she was devoted to her students and faithful to tutor and encouraged them to graduate, well into her retirement years. Maxine was a member of and served as a Sunday school teacher and Elder at Bellevue First Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service celebrating resurrection life will be held Friday, November 17, at 1pm at Bellevue First Presbyterian Church, 1717 Bellevue Way NE,
Bellevue, Washington 98004.
Arrangements have been made through Evergreen-Washelli.
