You don't know who I am. Many years ago, I took my five year old daughter for a routine checkup where my husband was stationed at Ent Air Force, Colorado Springs, Colorado. My daughter was the patient as Capt. Michael V. Grabowski was introduced as a " newly assigned medical officer at Ent AFB." Naturally, I have kept the original newspaper picture from that setting. As I looked for the Doctor, was so sorry to see that I had missed contact with him a year too late. Next best I thought, to say how sorry I am for your loss and I'm just a voice from the past to make contact now.

Hi Stephanie -
I think you might remember me, I'm Mary Eggert Post's daughter -- we've met a few times. You likely don't know this, but you were the person who convinced me to join a sorority when I was starting college.
We are just learning about your father's passing today. I'm sorry we didn't know before now. I just called mom to let her know and to read her the lovely obituary and she is calling my Auntie Carol Eggert Trost.
What a wonderful tribute to a very special man. I didn't know your dad well, but he was always so, so kind, friendly and just great to be around. He was also very supportive of my Grandma Johnson. I was able to see him in Hope, Oroville and even in Seattle when I was there on business.
Please know our deepest sympathies and hearts are with you and your family. I never know what to say at these times, nothing ever seems right, so I'll just pray your fond memories of your dad, together with time, will bring you some amount of peace.
Kindest regards,
Marideth Post

One of the most thoughtful and respectful teachers I had while being a lowly medical student. He always thought of the patient and the care team . I have so much respect. I learned a lot.
