To Neal's family and friends I send my sincerest condolences. Neal was a good friend to me during our high school years and though I lost touch with him after graduation, I always remembered him with great affection. He was so brilliant and had such a teriffic sense of humor. Neal could always make me laugh! He was one of those friends who could lift my spirits with a little comment or a smile when I was feeling unsure of myself. I am thankful to have known Neal and once again send my sympathies to his family.

Neal and Kathy are my very kind and wonderful neighbors. I am deeply saddened at Neal’s death and send my heartfelt condolences to Kathy, the Oberg and Package families, and all who knew, cared about, and loved Neal. He was just an amazing man, so knowledgeable about everything and so willing to share his knowledge and insights. He was very caring and generous of himself and his talents. I will never forget that Neal and Kathy helped my elderly mother one December evening when she was in great stress, and they immediately came over to be with me the evening when my mother passed away. It is so hard to lose someone so wonderful and still so young. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I never will forget Neal.

I'm a Nathan Hale alumnus and classmate of Neal's. We could always count on Neal to help us out with the tough subjects. Friends informed me of the sad news, and although I hadn't seen him since high school, I wanted to extend my condolences to the Oberg family.

Neal Oberg, my dear nephew, was always there for friends and family - taking wedding photos, fixing cameras, diagnosing car problems, researching information, referring us to restaurants, films worth seeing, books, vacation spots, bargain resources, anything and everything you can imagine.

We will miss his many gifts, his energy, his humor, his presence. We will remember him with love, always.

I went to highschool with Neal, and while we weren't in the same class, he took many of the photos for the drama productions I was in and I will always remember what lengths he'd go to, to try to get me to smile in the photos (I've always hated having my pictures taken, ever since I was little). He was always so sweet and supportive. My heart goes out to all those in his life. He will be missed.

To the Oberg family and all those who knew and loved Neal -

Our heart and prayers are with you.

In time, we pray that the memories of good times with Neal wash away the pain and remind you that Neal is pain free in God's arms caressed by warmth and light for eternity.

To the Oberg family,

Neal was such a kind man and so welcoming and generous to our son when he married into the Oberg family. We will remember him fondly and the times we spent with him at family gatherings. He may be gone but his presence lives on in those he touched. Our hearts go out to you.
