I attended Nathan Hale High School, and Norman Weeks was our choir teacher until he retired after my junior year. He returned the following year to audition students for the Seattle High School Choir. I was very honored that he chose me as one member of that choir. The thought that I was one of the best high school tenors in Seattle was an incredible honor. I have continued singing to this day. Next month is my 75th birthday, and my memories of Uncle Normie are very special to me.

I just returned from 5 years in Costa Rica to the news of Mr. Weeks death. What a wonderful guy he was! He was the sort of teacher (I worked under him for three years in All City Choir and during his final year with the Seattle School District at Nathan Hale High School in 1976 as well as taking piano) who was very good with students and I always appreciated him treating me as an adult.

I had the honor of singing in the Seattle All City High School Choir under Mr. Weeks' direction for three years, and he was my piano teacher for two years. He expected a lot from his students, and worked us hard, but he was one of the most enjoyable teachers I ever worked with and I learned so much from him. God bless you, Mr. Weeks!

Mr. Weeks was my glee club teacher for three years at Nathan Eckstein in the 50's. I'll never forget him. He was a kind and wonderful man.

Mr. Weeks had a tremendous influence on me. Besides singing in the All-City choir in the mid 70s, I took private piano lessons from him, and both experiences were incomparable. He undoubtedly had an incredible influence on a great number of young musicians.

My prayers go to the family. I will never forget Mr. Weeks. He was my choir music teacher at Nathan Hale (squire singers) in the 60's. I learned a lot from him. A very gifted man................I really give him credit for keeping my interest in voice and piano alive all of these years.................He touched many lives..............

Norm was a gifted teacher who gave the gift of music to many people. I became a music teacher as did my daughter because of his influence. I learned more from singing under Norm's direction than all the choral education classes at university. He once said to me at Carl Pitzer's funeral, " All things shall perish from under the sky, music alone shall live never to die." Norm will continue to live through the music that he gave so generously to so many. Kathy Harding Mahoney

To the family and friends, Norm was a delightful addition to many lives. He touched many with his joi de vivre.

I had the honor and privilege of singing under Norm's direction in the All City Choir for 3 years. He was a kind, generous, talented man whose dedication to youth and music will never be forgotten. He also led me to his wonderful sister Joyce and I studied voice with her for several years. I am grateful for the opportunities I had with both of them.
