Richard Ryen Obituary

Richard Harlen RYEN Age 71. Born March 27, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota; died December 19, 2004 in Mill Creek. Survived by his sister, Mary Newberg; children, Beth (Don) Hale, Dave Miller, Dawn (Dave) Carman, Rick (Diane) Ryen, Rhea Ryen, Susan Dunn, and their mother, Ann A. Ryen, Christopher, Daniel, and Elizabeth Ryen, and their mother, Lillian K. Ryen; also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Korean War Veteran, receiving the Purple Heart, he retired as a Full Colonel in the National Guard. He was in Banking, Insurance, Financial Planning/Advising and was a member of the Board at Christ the King Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 23rd, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Church, N. 117th St. and Dayton Ave. N., Seattle. Interment, Tahoma National Cemetery. Hoffner Fisher & Harvey

Dick was one of the kindest and most caring men I have known. The trip to India and Nepal that we took with a Rotary group was where we really got to know each other. His dedication to the Indian Christian Mission Centre near Salem, India was a great example to all.
