Robert Beaulieu Obituary
Robert Charles (Chuck) Beaulieu died at the age of 83 on January 26, 2015 of pneumonia. He was born in Sappho, WA, on March 24, 1931 to Olga (Youngquist) and Frederick Beaulieu. After his father died when Chuck was a teen, he moved to Seattle with Olga and his older sister, Yvonne. He attended Roosevelt High and served two years in the Navy before attending Seattle University and then the UW School of Dentistry. Graduating in 1959, he practiced nearly painless dentistry for almost 50 years on Capitol Hill, in Northgate, and later in Kingston, WA.
Playing football for Roosevelt around 1949, Chuck met a cheerleader and the love of his life in MaryBeth Hoban from the University District. They married in 1955 and had five children, Deborah (Boardman), Charles, Christopher, Joseph, and Edward by 1964. The family split time between their home in Northgate and a beach cabin on Mission Beach near Marysville. He loved the water and enjoyed boating and boat repairs, sailing, fishing, and sailboarding.
Generosity would be the one word many think of when remembering "Dr. B" as his office staff called him. He provided free or discounted dental care to many. He cherished many pets from a Great Dane to a series of mini Dachshunds and a few cats. To him, the pleasure of helping others always outweighed his personal needs.
Dr. Beaulieu was preceded in death by MaryBeth in 2004 and by his sister Yvonne (Sbory) in 2014. His five children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren survive him.
A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2015 with details pending. Cremation has been performed at Stone Chapel Mortuary in Poulsbo, WA, http://www.lewischapel.com. Donations in his memory could be made to the Humane Society.

My name is Susan & when I was a teenager in the 1960's, the Beaulieu family hired me often to care for their children. The kids prob dont remember me as they all were quite young then....well so was I at age 15 - 18. Because I needed orthodontic work done on my teeth & I had to pay for it myself, Dr B only charged me 5 dollars a week & I babysat his children in trade. What a deal that was ! At age 18, after graduation, I packed up & headed off to live in Europe. I decided to see the world & leave my 6 brothers & sisters behind. I didnt come home for many years because I found a great job in Europe. I have never forgotten Dr B & MaryBeth & all they did for me as a young teen. We lost touch over the years but today on March 28, 2015 I came across a photo of Mary Beth & I at my bon voyage tea 1964 June. Memories came rushing back ! Dr B & MaryBeth have stayed in my memories all my life & now I am 70 yrs old. I lived in Europe for many years & in Alaska for 30 yrs. Now I am retired in Florida. To the Family I am sorry for your loss. I remember Dr. Beaulieu as my dentist years ago in Northgate area. He truly was a Gentle Dentist, While I haven't seen him in long time I have fond memories of him as special person.
