Robert Kapela Obituary
Robert A. Kapela, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 20, 2014 following complications from surgery after a long illness.
Raised in Bellevue and loved by his parents, Dr. Robert and Betty Lou Kapela and his sisters, Cristina (Bob Dugoni) and Dana (James Fick). Rob attended Holy Family School in Kirkland and middle and high school at The Overlake School in Redmond. He received his business degree from the University of San Diego. Fascinated by computer technology, Rob became a consummate high-tech entrepreneur. Shortly after returning to Seattle, Rob became one of the partners in a tech company that developed what is known today as CIBA (a commercial multiple listing service). When that company sold Rob moved to Marketwave. In 2010, Rob sold his 3rd tech company, Telrex, to a Canadian publicly traded company. Creative and innovative, Rob was a hardworking and driven entrepreneur.
Rob's true passion, however, was spending his free time with family and concentrating on his three sons, Davis, Blake and Cole, whom he loved beyond words. On any nice day, one would find Rob on Lake Sammamish teaching his boys to water ski or "wake surf". He also enjoyed hiking with them on Tiger Mountain and snow skiing. Rob was patient and kind, thoughtful and had empathy for all. He was also a loving and generous uncle to his nieces and nephews Joseph, Catherine, Olivia, Landon and Luke.
He is very missed!

Got My Sisters Grave. Opened to the third page where there is a written message. Looked up Robert A. Kaplea. Read a little and discovered this page. Cole and family of Robert .... I know what real love is because my parents taught me. Losing one of them, when the time comes I know will be devastating. My wish for you is that you all find comfort in knowing that somehow ... someway , if you pay attention , you’ll feel him all around.
