Rosalyn Stone Obituary
Rosalyn STONE Rosalyn Weisberg was born September 13, 1923 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Eva Stein Weisberg and Louis Weisberg. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated North High School, then lived in California where she worked in the shipyards during World War II, and held several sales and administrative positions. Rosalyn married George "Kelly" Stone in 1951, and they resided in Seattle, Washington. They had two children, and divorced in 1958. Rosalyn, who lived happily for most of her adult life in Seattle, worked tirelessly to support her family, serving for 25 years as an executive assistant at Cascade Natural Gas Company. Not content to be retired, she enjoyed a stint as executive director of the International Foundation for Homeopathy, then worked in administration at SeaFirst Bank and Ryther Child Center, from which she retired after 15 years of service. Rosalyn was deeply devoted to her children, TaRessa Stovall of Montclair, NJ, and Gregory Stone of Snohomish, Wash, her step-daughter, Shirley Aaron, and her grandchildren, Quincy Stone, Calvin Stovall and Mariah Stovall. She was also very close to her niece and nephew, Cheryl and Bob Cronen, her brother-in-law, Meyer Bolnick, and step-grandchildren, particularly Roderick and Anita Pierce, all of Minneapolis, as well as a host of nieces and nephews around the country. Rosalyn had a deep passion for homeopathic medicine, and helped several dozen people to improve their health through homeopathy and other forms of natural health. A wise, warm-hearted healer who drew people to her, she was known as everyone's mother and friend, a devoted shopaholic, a timeless style icon, and a fabulous cook. Rosalyn was pre-deceased by her siblings Beatrice Udell, Kenneth Weisberg, Merton Weisberg and Shirley Rosenberg, and by the beloved family dog, Lance. After a brave and valiant struggle against cancer, Rosalyn passed away peacefully in The Little Hospice in Edina, Minnesota, surrounded by the loving presence and words of those closest to her. Her wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered in the waters of the Pacific Northwest. A memorial celebration of Rosalyn's life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Sorrento Hotel, 900 Madison St., in downtown Seattle. Call 609-304-3481 to RSVP.
