Sophie Mayo Obituary

Sophie Grace MAYO Sophie was born December 12, 1918 in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away January 13, 2010 in Des Moines, Washington. In 1936, at age 18, Sophie danced for President Roosevelt and the King and Queen of England at Constitution Hall and was the leader of the Waynesville, North Carolina Square Dance Team. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Mayo. Sophie is survived by sons Robert (Cindy) and Benjamin Mayo; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A time of visitation and a Rosary will be held at Yarington's White Center Funeral Home, 10708 16th Ave SW Seattle, WA 98146 on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, respectively. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9622 20th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106 on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM. The Rite of Committal will take place, following Mass, at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, WA.
