I was fortunate to study art and portrait painting with Stuart Moldrem in Seattle, Washington in 1985 and 1986. He was a man of great talent, brilliance and humanity. Oh, the stories he told me, they enrich my life, even, today. He knew so many people in the art world and shared their struggles, successes and subsequent perceptive life tips. He was a student of the great artist Theodore Lukits of Los Angeles, whom I studied with later on his recommendation. We were blessed to have had Stuart in our lives, for sure.

We were so sorry to read of Stu's passing. My uncle Gordon Tweit was just beside himself. We are distant relatives. As I understand it my great grandmother was Josephine Moldrem Peterson. My grandmother was Alice Peterson Tweit. I'll have to ask Gordy again just how we are related.
Of course we loved his work & Gordy has copies of several of his news clippings & accomplishments. We send our condolences. I life well lived, he will not be forgotten.
With love & hugs,

I remember Stu as an artist of high school athletic players in football, etc. The pictures were drawn from the actual pictures of the players, some from my high school of Lincoln in Seattle. Great pictures that depicted some of the outstanding players on our team as well as others on Seattle teams.
Stu was a great guy and artist. This world will miss him but I hope to see him in the next.
Lots of love,
Jerry Ramey (Lincoln H.S. 1951)
