Wayne Mulberry Obituary

Wayne Dean MULBERRY 63, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center. Born November 12, 1941 in Georgetown, KY, he was a son of Hazel Reister Mulberry Moberly, of Lexington, and the late Roy Dean Mulberry. He received his B.S. degree from Syracuse University and his Master's Degree from the University of Kentucky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from I.B.M. after 30 years where he held several executive positions such as Regional Manager and Director of World Wide Business Strategy. He then became the Director of The International Business and Management Center as well as teaching Business Management for the University of Kentucky and for Midway College. He was the former owner and CEO of Multi-Link, Inc. in Nicholasville, KY. He attended Trinity Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington and First Presbyterian Church in Haines City, FL. Besides his mother, survivors include his former wife, Greta Press Mulberry; a very special friend, Judy Dees of Florida; four children, Whitney (Lloyd) York, Shawn Mulberry, Morgan Mulberry, and Ashley Mulberry; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Travis, Margaret and Ira Chaplin, Tabitha (William) Elmore, Tina (Jeremy) Barnes, Sam York, Josh York, Lloyd David York, and Ashley York; five great grandchildren, William, Abigail, Madison, Megan, and Lucas; two brothers, Roy and Gary Mulberry; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by the Rev. Dr. Don Dilday. Entombment will follow at the Lexington Mausoleum. Casket bearers will be Tony Jones, Alan Bratton, Brent Mulberry, Carl Herbert Roney, Kent Mulberry, and Haven Mulberry. Honorary bearers will be Howard F. McKenzie, Billy Joe Jacobs, Charles Reister, Pat Reister, Tommy Reister, Gerald Reister, Pat Regan, Carl Jason, Dave Shephard, and Georgie Roney. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday. Special thanks to Dr. McGrath and Dr. DeSimone and his special nurse, Sharon. Memorial contributions are suggested to the UK Markey Cancer Center, 800 Rose St., Lex., KY 40536-0093 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lex. KY 40504.
