A wonderful human....rest in peace...

I became the Family Physician for Wesley some years ago, I don't remember exactly when. We became better acquainted year-by year, visit-by-visit. That was easy to do. As we all know, Wesley is a very friendly person
He was always gracious and generous. He often came to the medical office with two brown paper bags of goodies, usually from Trader Joe's or Uwajimaya's. One bag for the nurses and one bag for me. My wife was at first surprised with those surprise food delights that I would bring home, then she started to know who had brought them to me
Wesley asked for my home address one day. I assumed he wanted to send me a Christmas or other greeting. But one day my wife had a visitor at home, a dapperly dressed man with a red vest, arriving in a nice small red car. And as always, with two bags of fruit or snacks. Wesley!
Later, when he was to be baptised at the nearby church, my wife and I attended. And we learned more of his childhood history, arrival in America, his early life at the University and Boeing, and his eventually becoming an insurance agent and advocate for the Asian community. He spent many day's as a local politician, promoting various local and national politicians. His office wall was adorned with thank you notes and letter's from US Presidents. At the next day's banquet, we met more of his friends and his lovely family, Nonnie and Doug (daughter and son-in-law) and their three daughters. And his son Leon. Once again, we were amazed with his generosity and esteem seen for him in the local Asian community
We visited him in the Retirement Home in Bellevue and later several times at Ocean Shores, and had some good meals and visits together
We are sorry to see our good friend pass away!

I worked with Wesley for the 8 years he was at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). He always had a smile for everyone. RIP Wesley!

On 2 December 2015, Wesley said yes to Christ and was baptized in Seattle. We were all there to celebrate this happy event. You can see by the photos that it was fun for him to say yes to Jesus. While we are sad that he is gone, we know where he is and know that we will all be re-united one day in Heaven with him.
