William Sata Obituary

William K. SATA, M.D. Passed on March 10, 2007 in Bellevue, Washington. Born in Portland, Oregon on November 5, 1921 to immigrant parents from Japan, he attended the University of Utah Medical School and completed training in New York City in Neurology. Captain in the United States Army Medical Corp; Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington; Active in the professional Neurological Society. His private practice was in Seattle for 31 years until his retirement in 1987. Ardent sports and Husky Fan, whether it be football, basketball, or track, he could never see enough of this beautiful planet. From master at Judo to master sensei at Senke School Flower arrangement, he also studied Northwest Indian Art, performing woodcarving and leather craft. The Art of Fishing was his passion and fish rejoice around the world at his passing. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shizuka Sata, his two sons, Arthur, Gordon (Doris Lock); and two grandchildren, Mariko and Doug, all residing in Seattle. He is also leaves a younger sister, Elsie Baulkol, M.D. of Walnut Creek, California and follows a younger brother, Lindbergh Sata, M.D., who passed within the last year. There will be no service as his spirit will be kept alive with your kind thoughts.
