Aaron Carver Obituary
He was born on March 20, 1921, the son of Thomas M. and Opal Fern (Bell) Carver. Dee and Kathryn E. (Kay) Mann were married on December 7, 1943 in Elkton, MD. He and Kay were married for 50 years.
Dee enlisted in the U.S. Navy-Coast Guard in June, 1940. He was on active duty during World War II and served for 6 years, until his Honorable discharge in June, 1946. Dee was a member of the Pettis County VFW Post 2591. Dee was a locomotive engineer with Missouri Pacific Railroad for 33 years. He
enjoyed fishing, horse racing, flower and vegetable gardening, watching his grandson play baseball and playing cards and BINGO.
Dee is survived by five children, Nancy Carson of Victoria, TX, Tom Carver and wife Maxine of Alva, OK, Bonnie Castle and husband Larry of Otterville, Joy Huffman of Sedalia and Mike Carver and wife Theresa of Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren; 29 great
grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and a sister Wanda Gooch and husband Bob of Sedalia.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, his
wife, his brother T.J. Carver and sister Jean Reed.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:00PM at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home in Sedalia. Rev. Dr. Donald
Allcorn and Rev. Clem Skrzypczak will officiate.
Pallbearers will be W.E. Jeffries, Jr., Jimmy Vaughn, Ed Bone, Dale Todd, Gary
Allen and Jimmy Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Parker and Harold Vaughn.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery
with VFW Post 2591 presenting full military honors.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 6, from 6 until 8PM at the funeral home.
The Carver family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to St. Mary's Health Center Pastoral Care in care of the funeral home.
