Alta Lee Williams
TIPTON — Alta Lee Williams, 76, of Syracuse, Missouri passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton. She was one of 6 children born to Roy Lee and Beula Bernice Payne near Florence, Missouri.
Alta was a graduate of Otterville High School and continued her education at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City where she became a Registered Nurse. She retired from Bothwell Hospital as a charge nurse of outpatient surgery.
She was an active member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she served many years on the fellowship committee, took care of the flowers in the sanctuary and worked in the kitchen during VBS.
Alta was preceded in death by her parents and infant son Randall Williams.
She is survived by sons Jeff Williams and his wife Dianne of Sedalia and Kevin Williams of Syracuse; grandson Casey Williams; granddaughters Sidney Davis and her husband Blake, Taylor Williams, Shelby Williams, Olivia Williams; great-granddaughter Karsyn Wilson; brothers Gary Payne and his wife Dorla of Florence and Troy Van Payne of Bella Vista, AR; sisters Joyce Ruth Scaffer and her husband Paul of Excelsior Springs, MO., Beula Jean Haygood and her husband David of Ft. Worth, TX., Cheryl Lou Edwards and her husband Tom of Syracuse; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Florence, Missouri with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.

I worked with Alta for many years. She was a wonderful caring nurse and many patients benefited from her healing touch. She loved her family and was so proud of them.
She will be missed.
