Carol Bryden Obituary

Carol Jean Bryden, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at her home with family and friends by her side.

She was born February 20, 1930, in Beloit, WI, a daughter of Ellis Leroy and Cloie Ruby Barteau Stafford. On March 26, 1949, in Beloit, she married Dr. James W. Bryden, who survives of the home.

Mrs. Bryden worked alongside her husband as office manager of Bryden Valley Chiropractic Center. She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in La Monte, Show-Me Model A Club, Knife and Fork Club and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed needlepoint, reading, crocheting, collecting bells, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Forrest Bryden, and his wife, Debbie, of Sedalia; two daughters, Linda Bryden, of Boonville, and Rhonda Bryden Cook, and her husband, Ted, of Morris, IL; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Stafford, of Beloit, WI, and Berton Stafford, of Orange, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Barbara Stafford King.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Eddie Vigil officiating.

Casket bearers will be Matt Goalder, Ted Cook, Brian Amos, Charles Amos, Mark Fletcher and Bob Camden.

Honorary bearers will be Ken and Betty Janney, Dr. Chester and Dorothy Kirkpatrick, Charles Lance, Trudy Quibell, April Hale, Dr. Mark and Jill Haney, Leonard Anderson, and Glenn and Mary Catherine Sammons, Louise Amos and Doris Vogan.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Doc.....I still check out the Democrat online and I just saw Carol's obituary. She was a wonderful Christian lady and always a blessing to our family when we were living there. You are in our prayers.

Dear Bryden Family,

I am so glad I was able to visit with your Carol a few years ago and sorry she leaves you now. Such a kind and devoted spirit. She lived a good and full life very well. My thoughts are with you.
