Donald R. "Don" Trammell

1940 - 2009

Donald "Don" R. Trammell, 69, of New Bloomfield, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 at his home.

He was born March 30, 1940 in Guthrie, MO, the son of the late Reed and Virginia (Clay) Trammell. On Oct. 4, 1958, he married Louise Criswell in New Bloomfield. She survives at their home.

He is also survived by one son, Michael Trammell and his wife Chele of Sedalia; two daughters, Julie Trammell of New Bloomfield and Lori Hermann and her husband Tim of Jefferson City; two brothers, Bill Trammell of New Bloomfield and Jim Trammell and his wife Donna of Holts Summit; and four grandchildren, Taylor and Natalie Hermann, and Teagan and Addison Trammell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Betty Buchta.

A lifelong resident of New Bloomfield, Don owned and operated Don's Market in New Bloomfield for 23 years. He later worked for Moser's Foods in Holts Summit. For many years, he maintained the track at Capital Speedway. Don was a member of the Dry Fork Baptist Church, member of the New Bloomfield Alumni Assoc., past member of New Bloomfield Lions Club, and past volunteer firefighter for the New Bloomfield Fire District.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit with Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wed. evening, Dec. 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
