Maxine Cousino Obituary

Maxine Cousino, age 84, of Sedalia, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.

She was born January 22, 1925 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of Lucian & Ada (Maynard) Queen. On June 30, 1953, in Sandusky, OH, she was married to Francis "Bud" A. Cousino, Sr. who died March 7, 2005.

She grew up in Stiltner, VW. She later moved to Sandusky, OH where she met her future husband. After they married, they moved to Toledo, OH and retired to San Antonio, TX. They moved to Sedalia in 1995 to be near their son, Frank, who was stationed at WAFB.

Maxine was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She used her talents to sew quilt tops for "Project Linus", a national organization that enlists volunteers to stitch handmade blankets to help comfort seriously ill or traumatized children.

Surviving are a son Frank Cousino & his wife Rosalind, of Sedalia; a brother Basel Queen, of Winder, GA; two grandchildren Stephen A. Cousino & Michelle L. Fragoso; a great grandson Andres Fragoso; and several nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother Hasten Queen and a sister Virgie Isaacs.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Highland Sacred Gardens with the Rev. Fr. Bill Miller officiating.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. There will be a scripture service at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be offered online at www.mclaughlinfuneralchapel.com.
