Michael Dean Snell
SEDALIA — Michael Dean Snell, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born December 9, 1941, in Madison, WI, son of Maurice William Snell and Irene Truth (Funnell) Snell.
On September 17, 1988, in Fair Grove, he was married to Ellen Ann (Rouse).
Mike served twenty years in the U.S. Air Force and had served in Vietnam. He then worked in Civil Service for twenty years. He was a member of the Knob Noster Masonic Lodge, where he was past master. He was also a member of Lifepointe Church. He was a skilled painter, and loved horses and dogs. His grandbaby, Katrina, was his life. Mike will be remembered as an honorable and loving man, truly "one in a million."
Surviving are his wife, Ellen, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Fant (Rodney), of Tunas, and Tricia White (Buddy), of Sedalia; five grandchildren, Ashley, Randy, Trevor, Ryan and Raymond; four great-grandchildren and two more on the way; twin brother, Mark Snell; and sister, Mary Sickles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Clayton on August 18, 2017; three sisters, Delcie, Virginia and Helen; and a brother, Bobby.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force. A Masonic service will also be held.
Honorary bearers will be Katrina Doty, Mason Fant, Marie Webb and Dick Norman.
Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project.

Dear Ellen, I'm so very sorry to hear of Mikes passing. I truly enjoyed working with him at Pam's . He was so much fun to be around and an all around great man! My condolences to all the family. It's been great getting to know Mike these past two years or so. I have really appreciated his growing hunger for God's Word. It is wonderful to know the Lord and to be with Him forever, though we will certainly miss Mike for now. Sincerely Richard.
