Paul Hodge Obituary

Paul Steven Hodge, 72, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Fair View Nursing Home in Sedalia. He was born on January 13, 1953, in Windsor, MO, the son of William Harold Hodge and Dolores (Dreis) Hodge, who preceded him in death.

On December 13, 1975, in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Pope, who resides in the home.

He was born and raised in Windsor, MO. After graduating High School in 1970, he attended State Fair Community College and Southwest Baptist University and earned a degree in religion. After obtaining his degree, he returned to Sedalia, where he was the pastor at Crossroads Baptist Church and Dresden Baptist Church. Later he worked at Waterloo Industries, retiring in 2017.

Paul was a devoted family man, his love for his family was evident in every moment he spent with them. He cherished his time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved to spoil with donuts. His passion for family extended to his love for Stockton Lake, where he enjoyed capturing the beauty of the scenery and sailboats.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by two sons, Phillip Hodge (Paula) of Rogersville, MO, and Matthew Hodge of Sedalia; three granddaughters, Emily (Connor), Ellie, and Brooklyn; one great-grandson, Cash; a brother, Larry Hodge (Cindy) of Sedalia; and a nephew, Brent Hodge (Kelly).

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Jeremiah Greever officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

I was pretty young when I pastored at Dresden Baptist Church.
I believe he was pastor at LaMonte Baptist Church at the time, or filling in.
His wisdom and advise made a huge difference while I was there.
My heart goes out to all of his friends and family.
Thinking of you and praying for you all through this difficult time.
