Vicki Houseman

Vicki Lynn Houseman, 72, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away at the Hospice House of Kansas City on April 5, 2025. She was born on January 10, 1953, in Belton, MO, the daughter of James and Imogene (White) Hankins, who preceded her in death.

On November 20, 1971, in Bourbon, MO, she was united in marriage to Richard Houseman, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2016. They made their home in Syracuse, MO, where they raised two daughters.

Vicki was a proud graduate of Belton High School, Belton, MO, class of 1972. During the years of raising her children, she worked at Stride-Rite in Tipton, MO, before becoming a 911 Dispatcher for Moniteau County 911, in California, MO. She later became a 911 Dispatcher for Pettis County Sheriff's Office, where she retired after 19 years of service. She loved gardening, her shoe collection, watching game shows, and shopping. She also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals, especially her favorite player, Salvy, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Vicki is survived by two daughters, Melissa Kicker (James Marriott) of Versailles, MO, and Kelly Isaacson (Scott) of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, Raymond Marriott (Melissa) of Versailles, MO, Kristy Marriott of Columbia, MO, Maddy Simons (Jake Brown) of Sedalia, MO, Alex Marriott, Austin Marriott, Aaron Marriott of Versailles, MO, Devann Isaacson and Logan Isaacson of Nashville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Raylynn Marriott and Riley Marriott of Versailles, MO; two brothers, James Hankins of Blue Springs, MO, and Kevin Hankins of Sedalia, MO; one sister Cheryl Hankins of Versailles, MO, and many neices, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Michael Hankins of Olathe, KS, and a sister, Deborah Hankins of Belton, MO.

A celebration of life will be held at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO, on Wednesday, April 23rd, beginning with a visitation at 11 a.m, services will begin at 12 p.m., with pastor Richard DeFord officiating, and burial will immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Honorary bearers are Ryan Smith, Rusty Kahrs, James Theisen, and the Pettis County Sheriff's Office deputies.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
