Elaine Bankey

CYGNET -- Elaine Ann (Hoffman) Bankey, age 85, passed away on Tuesday November

14, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1938, in Wauseon, Ohio to the late

Stanley and Wilma (Forest) Hoffman. She married James Bankey on June

23, 1990, and he survives in Cygnet, Ohio.

Elaine was a member of Christ United Methodist church in Portage,

Ohio. She enjoyed doing karaoke. She sang in her church's choir and

played the French horn for the Monroe Community band and Battle Creek

band. Elaine was an avid reader and loved to crochet, she would

crochet hats for the homeless and domestic abuse shelters.

Along with her husband Jim, Elaine is survived by her son Mark

(Margaret) Roebke of Carleton, Michigan, daughter Karen Drammeh of

Flint, Michigan, stepchildren, Beth (Dustin) Tyson, Melanie (Phil)

Davis, Jim (Brenda) Bankey, sisters Judy Potes of Wauseon, Ohio, Nancy

(Lyle) Beaverson of Wauseon, Ohio and 2 grandchildren Molly and

Michael Roebke and many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren

and 1 step great-great-grandson.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Harold

Roebke to whom she was married for 28 years, and sister, Carolyn

Hoffman.

A visitation will be held on Sunday November 19, 2023, from 1:00 p.m.

to 4:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District

of Bowling Green, Ohio located at 408 W. Wooster St. Her funeral

service will be held on Monday November 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with

an additional visitation period starting at 9:30 a.m. at Christ United

Methodist Church 301 W Main St. Portage, Ohio 43451. Pastor Roseanne

Kalinowski will officiate. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial

Cemetery La Salle, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be given to Bridge Hospice Care Center or

Christ United Methodist Church Portage, Ohio.
