Joseph Speck Obituary

BOWLING GREEN -- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph A. Speck "Joe", who left us on August 19, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on July 9, 1948, to Verna (Jacoby) and the late Joseph A Speck.

A graduate of Elmwood High School in 1966, Joe went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Findlay College in 1970. For over 30 years, he devoted his life to serving others in the food service department at Wood County Hospital, where he was a familiar and friendly face.

Joe had a passion for reading and loved history, particularly anything related to the Civil War. His quirky personality shone through in the notes he took while reading, showcasing his thoughtful and inquisitive nature.

Joe is survived by his beloved mother, Verna Speck, and his two sisters, Vicki and Cheryl Speck.

A private graveside service will be held at New Bellville Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Joe's honor may be gifted to the University of Findlay Fund, the Bowling Green Community Band, or Bridge Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green. www.hannemanfuneralhomes.com.
