BOWLING GREEN -- Kay Jakubowski, 69, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2025. She was born May 6, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Robert and Betty (Guy) Bullimore. On October 11, 1980, she married the love of her life, Douglas Jakubowski, who survives.
Kay was a graduate of Waite High School and the Toledo Hospital Nursing School, later serving many years as a nurse at Toledo Hospital. A woman of faith, she lived her life anchored in the promise of Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Her children remember her sacrificial love: "There wasn't a soul you couldn't love nor a person you wouldn't serve." Kay's legacy of faith, service, and compassion continues through her family and all those she touched.
She was a member of Dayspring Church, Jacob's Ladder Messianic Church, and a lifelong supporter of Champions in Action. She also cherished her Tuesday morning ladies' prayer group at CBC.
Along with her husband of nearly 45 years, Kay is survived by her children Jeremy (Bethany Stevenson), Jonathan (Missy), Joy Barnes (David), Joseph (Jeanyne), Julianna Sagasturne (Dario), and Joanna Mendez (Jose); her brother Douglas Bullimore (Sally); sisters Jill Bostater (Dan), Kelly Emch (Gregg), and Beth Estep; brother-in-law Jim Jakubowski (Tracy); 21 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dennis Bullimore.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, from 3–7 p.m. at Dayspring Church, 17360 N. Dixie Hwy., Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Cody Winkler officiating. Interment will follow at Wood County Memory Gardens.
