Kenneth Harley Obituary
He married Virginia Tuller on July 8, 1946. She preceded him in death January 24, 2014.
Kenneth worked at The Factory in Ionia in the engineering department and later as an industrial arts instructor at the Reformatory. He had over 30 years of service on the Michigan One Credit Union board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Rex (Linda) Harley; grandchildren, Craig Harley and Beth (Lynn) Price; great grandchildren, Tia and Brady Price; brothers, Harold Harley of California and Bob Carten of Ionia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia and brother Richard Carten.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 22, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com

Ken served his credit union and its members faithfully and proudly; providing many years of leadership to Michigan One Community Credit Union.
Ken was a student of credit unions, and completed dozens of credit union training courses. In recognition of his training achievements, Ken earned several credit union training certificates from the Michigan Credit Union League.
Ken also received M1's most prestigious Volunteer Spotlight Award for 2010.
Ken started his service to M1 in 1983 as a member of the M1 Credit Committee. In 1993 Ken was elected to the M1 Board of Directors; where over the next 20 years he served as security officer, vice chairman, and chairman.
Ken took the Oath of Office as M1's Board Chairman, on April 18, 2007, and served as Chairman until April 2010.
To a standing ovation at the April 20, 2013, M1 Appreciation Dinner, Ken received his M1 30 Year Service Recognition Award, and announced his retirement from service to M1.
During Ken's tenure, he saw his credit union introduce share drafts, ATM's, credit cards, mortgages, debit cards, website, new main office, three branch offices, online banking, community charter, name change to Michigan One Community Credit Union, business lending, and mobile banking.
