Frances Dennie Obituary

Frances Nation Dennie, 90, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was a member of Burks Branch Baptist Church. She was a seamstress at Lee McClain Clothing Factory for 34 years. She was very artistic. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, sewing and she loved her collections of items she had acquired over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ida Mae Hillard Nation, her brothers, Cecil Nation, Herbert Nation Jr., J.T. Nation, John Nation and her sisters, Martha Richie, Virginia Phillips, Mary Ethel Hughes, Liddie Harper, Alice Nation, Deloris Johnson, Susie Frazier and Pauline Ford.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Leonard Dennie of Shelbyville, her daughters, Cinda Wheet of Shelbyville and Diana Hudson (Fred) of Shelbyville, her sister, Joyce Crawford of Simpsonville and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, February 20th and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Burks Branch Baptist Church, 2023 Fox Run Road, Shelbyville, KY 40065.
