Susanne Busey Osbert, 72

Susanne Busey Osberg passed away peacefully on July 23,2025 in Boston, Mass.
Susanne was born March 1, 1953, as the daughter of Elanor and George Busey of Bagdad. She was a 1971 graduate of Shelby County High School and also earned a degree from Boston Conservatory of Music and a master's degree from UMASS.
Susanne was a talented person. After college graduation she remained in the Boston area and started her musical journey that involved being a concert pianist touring the nation, accompanist work, director of music at a large church, teaching music lessons, teaching at colleges in the Boston area and playing in the summer months at a prestigious music festival in Oregon.
Some of Susanne's other interests were following her Boston area sport teams, playing Bridge in which she acquired a national ranking, visiting her friends in both the Boston area and in Kentucky and traveling. Her love of travel took her to numerous national parks, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam. Some of her favorite memories were coming to Ky. to catch up with old friends, play Bridge with John Myles, David Bell and Bob Giltner and of course go here, there and everywhere with her fellow "Dixiechicks."
Susanne was preceded in death by her husband, John Osberg and her parents.
Susanne is survived by her daughter, Molly Osberg of Brooklyn, NY. and a brother, Bill Busey of Bagdad, Ky.
Susanne was loved by many and will be missed by many.
To show your appreciation for the life of Susanne, there will be a memorial service on Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. James Episcopal Church at 230 Main St. in Shelbyville, Ky.
