Walter Lynn "Housecat" Roberts

Walter Lynn "Housecat" Roberts, 76, of Shelbyville, KY passed away on Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at the U of L Shelbyville Hospital.
Born on January 13th, 1945, he grew up in Graefenburg, KY and developed a love for nature and the land at a very early age. After attending Eastern KY University and then later serving in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970, he found his calling on the farmland of Waddy, KY and devoted his working life to agriculture and helping those in the same profession. He ran a working family farm for more than 50 years and hauled livestock for over 35 years and was actively working right up until his untimely death.
He enjoyed raising cattle, hunting, fishing and visiting with his friends. All of those activities brought him joy and happiness that was equaled only by pride of family and enjoying time with his grandchildren.
He was known far and wide as much for his humor and wit as he was for his honesty, integrity, devotion to his family and those he called friends.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than 55 years, Rubie Dinkler Roberts of Shelbyville; a son, Whitney Roberts (Jacqueline) of Finchville; granddaughter, Grace Arden Roberts; a son, Courtney Roberts (Meghan) of Versailles; granddaughters, Nora Katherine Roberts and Emily Claire Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Henry Roberts and Margaret Catherine Roberts.
Funeral services were private by request; internment was at the Bagdad Cemetery in Bagdad, KY. Shannon Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
