Christopher Carlton Canty, lovingly known as "Canty" by his many friends, tragically passed away on September 13, 2025. He was 41 years old. Born to William and Virginia Canty on July 22, 1984, in Annapolis, Maryland, Christopher grew up alongside his sister and brother-in-law, Michele Lyons Gant and Kurt Patrick Gant, in Pasadena, Maryland, where he began his love of being on the water, golfing, and photography. He was introduced to Navy football by his parents at a young age and became a lifelong fan of the sport, later becoming an avid Washington football fan. He carried his love for his home state into adulthood which would lay the foundation of his many friendships and local legacy. Christopher loved to laugh. He loved to entertain, to cook, to embrace an adventure, and most of all, to be surrounded by people. Whether they were patrons at his restaurant, a casual acquaintance, a lifelong friend or a roommate, Christopher loved to spend his time making others feel welcomed and loved-like family. He was curious, passionate, driven, and hardworking. Christopher impacted countless people with his presence, his character, and his laugh. He will be forever cherished by all who knew him. Christopher was a loving son and brother, preceded in death by his father, William P. Canty. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Ann Canty, sister, Michele Lyons Gant, brother-in-law Kurt Patrick Gant, nieces Ashley and Kendall Gant, and his favorite girls, Allison Brenton, and Gywnn and Mara Eber. His memory will be held close forever. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 1-3pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home (200 S. Harrison Street, Easton, MD) where friends and family may visit to pay their respects and share memories. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church (7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD). Burial will follow the funeral service at Woodlawn Memorial Park (11365 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD). The family welcomes all loved ones to attend.
