Iris Proctor Obituary

Iris M. Proctor
June 29, 1943 – Feb. 25, 2026

Iris M. Proctor, 82, of Princeton, Ky., formerly of Sallisaw, Okla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
She was born on June 29, 1943, in Crosbyton, Texas, to her late parents, Bedford Ray and Ruby Lena Fazier Manly. After marrying, she made her home in Sallisaw, where she lived for 60 years before she moved to Princeton, to live with her daughter five years ago.
For 47 years, Iris worked hanging wallpaper, a profession she truly loved. She took pride in her craft and treasured the many friendships she formed along the way. She was a member of the Assembly of God. She found great joy in horseback riding, cooking and canning vegetables she grew herself, and spending quiet hours reading, sewing and embroidering.
Iris is survived by her four daughters, Jo Anna (Kenny) Cox of Broken Arrow, Leslie (Dr. James) Rushing of Princeton, Lorinda Faye (Charlie) Hernandez of Clarksville, Tenn., and Darla Jo (Joe) Morgan of Sallisaw; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Iris is preceded in death by her sister, Merel Gordan; four brothers, Charles R., Leslie R., Frank R., and Johnny R. Manly; and one grandson.
Burial will be held in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburn, Texas, at a later date.
Morgan's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
