Reda M. Covington was born on June 15, 1953, in Sallisaw, to Lessie (Armer) Matthews and Omer Clinton Matthews and passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025 in Sallisaw. She was married to Daniel Covington on Sept. 15, 1976, in Stilwell.
Mrs. Covington was a factory worker and retired from Borg-Warner/SLPT after 30 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, pets, wildlife and fishing. She loved sweets of any kind.
Survivors are one daughter, Cheresse Riggs and husband, Brent of Sallisaw; one son, Edward Covington of Sallisaw; two grandchildren, Brayden Davis and wife, Addison of Sallisaw and Alexis Davis and fiancé, Hayden Wells of Barling, Ark.; one great-grandchild, Tayte Davis of Sallisaw; six sisters, Gurleen Brown of Vian, Debbie Kirk of Muskogee, Dorothy Young of Sallisaw, Faye Wildcat of Vian, Earlene Powers of Seminole and Linda Bradshaw of Fort Gibson; three brothers, William Matthews of Vian, Tommy Matthews of Vian and Clinton Matthews of Vian; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three great-grandchildren, Saydee Rose, Taytum Elizabeth and Joshlyn Jean.
