Agnes Kozel Obituary

Agnes Claire Kozel
July 20, 1933 - July 23, 2021
Agnes Claire Kozel passed away in the early hours of July 23rd, 2021. She was born to George and Anna Rosol in Ambridge, Pennsylvania on July 20th, 1933. As the youngest, she had five siblings who loved and adored her: Paul Rosol, Mary Rosol, George Rosol, Ann Rosol, and Elizabeth Rosol.
Claire bore and raised four wonderful children with her then husband Paul L. Kozel. Her children collectively went on to introduce four dearly loved Grandchildren. Her family truly adored her, and she was often referred to as the center and anchor of the family.
Claire was a strong, independent woman, who lived a long life filled with love, laughter and its fair share of hardships. But still, even in the darkest of times, Claire never lost her faith, and comforted the people around her with her caring and uplifting nature. In her professional life, Claire was a true entrepreneur, owning and operating the Savoy Tivoli in North Beach with great success for many years in collaboration with her partner, Juan Cerda. Her love for people extended beyond her family, and into her business. She was loved by many loyal patrons, many of whom were drawn to the bar just to experience her warmth and kindness. She loved to talk, and her playful and quick witted humor made her approachable by all.
In her later years, Claire began to have complications with her health. She fought as hard as she could, and even through her pain and suffering, remained selfless, and never lost her positive attitude and sense of humor. Her spirit survives beyond her physical existence, as she will be remembered for a long, long time. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by George Rosol, Paul Leonard Kozel, Juan Cerda, Paul Byron Kozel, Leesa Ann Kozel, Julie Gibson, Adrian Rosly Kozel, Paul Sebastian Rosly, Anna Kimberly Kozel, and Christina Vita Kozel.
Friends are invited to attend a half hour Visitation and Rosary Service Beginning at 9:30 am with Funeral Mass following at 10:00am Friday July 30th, 2021 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert Street, SF, CA 94133; Committal Services will be private.

Many thanks to this Auntie. A great friend and a great pal. From the early days... Yes as a teen, she changed my diapers and never forgot to talk about it. Now that was an Auntie. Very happy to be her nephew and friend on the home front and in California. L.

I have very fond memories if Aunt Claire growing up. I always enjoyed spending time with her and listening to her stories of my grandma, dad, aunts and uncles. She was so full of life and full of love. She always brought a smile to my face when I think of her, she will be missed dearly.
To my cousins: I will be thinking and praying for you as you process and grieve the loss of your mother and grandmother.
