Agnes Stagnaro Obituary
01/16/1932 - 03/13/2025
Agnes Mary Stagnaro passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Agnes was born on January 16, 1932 and lived in San Francisco throughout her life. She attended St. Anne School and was part of the Presentation High School class of 1950. Agnes lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of her 93 years. One of the greatest joys of Agnes's life was her grandson, Michael George Herold, and her two great-grandsons, Benjamin Ray and Nolan Joseph Herold. Agnes found joy in a variety of careers throughout her life including at The Emporium, The San Francisco Zoo, Fleishhacker Pool, The Japanese Tea Garden and even, Kentucky Fried Chicken! Agnes, or Aggie, as she was known by loved ones, was a long-time member of the Slavonic Mutual and Benevolent Society of San Francisco and enjoyed many dinner and dancing events at "The Hall" over the years. Aggie loved spending time with family and friends, having a good laugh and a (or a few!) Manhattan ("With the good cherries," as Aggie would say). Agnes is survived by her son, Anthony (Tony) Stagnaro Jr., daughter-in-law, Chita Stagnaro, daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Stagnaro Heon, son-in-law, David (Dave) Heon, sister-in-law, Shirley Bruno, granddaughter-in-law, Ana Herold, and nieces Gloria Barbarotto (Nick Barbarotto), Suzy Mosunic, Lori Bruno, Carol Acosta, Angie
Bouchard, Kelly, her nephews, Billy, Steve and Tim, Tony Bruno and Agnes's nephew and godson, John Spediacci. Agnes was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony (Tony) Anton Stagnaro, her parents, Lee Samuel and Jelisava Mary (Barulich) Mosunic, her brothers, Samuel and John Mosunic, her sisters-in-law, Rose Mosunic, Madeleine Spediacci and Marie Doty and her niece, Dee Spediacci. A celebration of life for Agnes will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 11am at Duggan's Serra Mortuary with a reception to follow. The family of Agnes will greatly miss her smile, her infectious laugh and the joy she brought to all of our lives.

I can still remember the warmth and kindness I always felt upon entering the Stagnaro Home on Kirkham Street. Tony and Cathy´s parents were so welcoming, full of laughter and smiles. We´d visit Agnes at the Emporium, Stonestown, while she was working. She´d handle us rowdy teenage girls like a real pro with such finesse and sweetness. God Bless this beautiful family.
