Alan Morris Obituary

Alan Raymond Morris

Alan Raymond Morris passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on the evening of October 24th, 2021, just a few weeks after celebrating his 80th birthday.

Born in San Francisco September 21, 1941 to Raymond and Marjorie Morris, cherished older brother of Gayle and James. He attended school in the City before moving to San Mateo where he attended local schools and graduated from San Mateo High School, Class of '59. He then went onto UC Berkeley where he majored in Business Administration, was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, and made the acquaintance of Danice Schwartz, who would become the love of his life. He received his MBA from Golden Gate University and in time joined the practice of Harb, Levy, and Weiland as a CPA, a career he had for over 50 years. He finished preparing taxes for select clients just weeks before his passing.
Alan's greatest joys were his family, who miss him terribly: Danice, wife of 57 years; Vicky (Jim) Daniel and their sons, Hunter and Dylan; Andrew (Mariah) and their son, Simon; and Scott (Jennifer) and their children Brinley, Devon, and Josh. He was totally devoted to his grandchildren, a constant presence at their games, plays, pick-ups and birthday parties, and became a pseudo-grandfather to many of their friends. In addition, he loved the company of his close cousins, Gary and Craig Morris and their families, with whom he shared vacations and joyous family occasions.
Easy-going, a lover of life, up for almost anything, Alan was beloved by all who knew him, whether they had just met him or had known him their entire lives. He enjoyed traveling with Danice to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Israel, and with his young family on road trips to many landmarks in the US. He loved annual family trips to Tahoe, celebrating happy occasions with family dinners, and a good nap. Alan was famous for his love of photography, earning himself the title of professional photographer for almost every event he attended. He leaves all of us with cherished memories caught on film, in print, in the cloud, and in our hearts.
A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: Sequoia Hospital Foundation, First Exposures (firstexposures.org), or a favorite charity of your choice.
