I met Al long after he left the bench and while I was working in the courts. I was a beginner cutter when we met and although we talked about cattle and horses we spent most of our time talking about the judicial system. He was a what´s right is right kind of man and I appreciated that. No bull, just facts. I will always remember Haidas Lil Pep and think of you! (Inside joke)
Condolences to all. RIP Al.

Al was the best. Always quick witted. Always had a story or an experience to share. Our families have been longtime friends since the San Francisco days. Al had great horses and Astrid was always by his side.

I knew Judge Wollenberg from his days sitting in the old Department 20 on the 6th floor at the Hall of Justice. He was a judge I looked up to not only for his knowledge of law and procedure but for his sense of fairness. He was a commanding presence in many respects larger than life personality

Dad was a beautiful and generous man. He loved and animals and the outdoors. We miss him.

As a police officer in San Francisco I appeared many times in front of Judge Wollenberg. He was an excellent judge and always made intelligent and reasonable rulings. I got to know him later with his wife Astrid and their horse ranch in Sonoma. Very involved through his children and grandchildren in the Quarter horse Community. Traveled extensively with his horse/camper combo to support his families competition. Great man and may he rest in peace.

Judge Wollenberg and I go way back. He was a character and a no nonsense judge but he had a sense of humor. He could handle difficult court calendars. I liked appearing in his courtroom. Condolences to his wonderful daughter Kim. May he rest in peace.
