Dr Smoot was the best family doctor. They broke the mold after he came to Ocean Avenue. It is a sad day to hear of his passing. He cared for three generations of Magee's and we are forever grateful. Condolences and our sympathies to my boy Paulie and all the Smoot's. You're in my prayers,
Dave Magee

Dr.Smoot was a special man and a compassionate physician who will be missed by many. I am fortunate to had the pleasure of talking with him during his years at the Ocean Ave Bldg.
My thoughts are with your family.

My grandmother and myself were once patients of Dr. Smoot back in the 70's and 80's. My fondest memory of Dr. Smoot was when he was running behind with his patient load and you simply didn't mind. You knew he was giving everyone all the time (his time) they needed. He was a physician who truly cared. He was ahead of his time. Unfortunately, they broke the mold. The heavens above are so lucky to have such a warm and caring soul joining them. My best to his family. Thank you for sharing.

What an amazing man Dr. Smoot was, anyone who knew him was lucky! We will never forget his invaluable help to John Henning, Sr. Without Dr. Smoot, we would not have had him so long. What a UNIQUE and incredible doctor, caring, HOUSE CALLS and depth of knowledge. Our sadness is with you and yours.

This is such a hard loss to those of us who knew and loved the Doctor as his patients but to the family, I cannot imagine the hole this leaves for you. He was a great Doctor and the sacrifices you the family made allowing him to always be there for us, has to be given the same recognition. The world was truly a better place because of the Doctor. We would speak of God often and I know with all my being he is in Christ's hands now, away from the suffering and enjoying the eternal peace and happiness promised to all of us if we lived the life of giving the Doctor did. May God Bless all of your family during this sad time as we his patients have already been blessed for many, many years.
