I am at present in San Francisco (11/25/17) on holiday from Australia where I live. I have been trying to contact family members in California, descendants of Ando Kelliher who emigrated from Co.Kerry in the 1920's. I believe Andrew Kelliher (deceased) may be my first cousin. Deepest condolences to the family. Patrick Kissane ([email protected])

I was a Student at Wallenberg High School when Andy was a PE Teacher. I often was late for school because I recieved no support at home. Andy would call me every morning to encourge me to ge up for school. Not until I had children of my own could I appreciate his amazing dedication. I never forgot this man. He was a quiet hero in my life. He will never know the impact he has had.
Andy Thank You!!

Dear Kelleher Family,
I am really sorry about your loss and all of our loss of Andy. Andy and I should have met in our teens, but we did not meet until our 50's. Our dads knew each other in the 1950's. I was a student at St. Joseph's until June, 1958. Andy came in September,1958. We finally met about 10-15 years ago at a St. Joe's Alumni Day of Recollection. We were not strangers. We would see each other in the following years at the annual Day of Recollection. It was always a pleasure to meet him again. He was as others have said, a kind, considerate man focused on you rather than himself. I have to believe there are many, many lives touched and shaped by this good man. God Bless

First of all, on behalf of the first two graduating classes (1984 & 1985) of Wallenberg High School, I wish to convey our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Kelleher Family. We were so blessed to have had Andy in our midst during those years. He truly cared for all students and his effect made a positive difference for all. May God bless his soul in heaven. And his memory serve as a bright light to shine throughout our lives.

Elizabeth, Donna and I feel deeply sad about your loss. It is difficult to understand why when life ends that it actually begins living out Gods word. Andy was an inspiration to all of us and will send the loving grace to you and your family to understand why. We feel honored just to know him.

I can't imagine how you must feel.... please know God and his angel Andy are watching over you and you have been granted strength to endure this before you even asked. Andy had a heart of gold and a spirit that inspired many by his example. You were very lucky to have him.

To the family of Andy Kelleher,
Sorry to hear about the passing of a wonderful man.
He was my son's PE teacher at Wallenberg and would always ask about him, Chris Hurley who is now a Math teacher at Presidio M.S. I worked as an administrator in SFUSD and knew him from the many meetings Assistant Principals had to attend.

Our family has had the priviledge of knowing Andy from back to the St. Raphael School days. Our children were lucky to attend the Sports Camps in the summer and have great memories. Recently Andy volunteered at St. Raphael School while I worked there as secretary. Andy loved working with the kids and they loved him. He was on the Principal Advisory Board and brought great faith, wisdom and many years of education experience to the board. We will miss Andy in many ways - most especially seeing him in church and as a reader on Sundays. Thank you Andy for the impact you had on so many - heaven has another great man. Our love and prayers to Elizabeth and family.

I am a teacher at St. Raphael School where Andy would come into my 8th grade literature classes to tutor groups of students; he was the consummate teacher who would call and e-mail his charges to remind them of their assignments! His creative approach to Antigone and even Sophicles was beautiful - he was a natural 'people person', wonderful with children, and always a problem-solver (and he never said "no"). I feel blessed to have shared that big smile and some time with him. My prayers are with his family.

I was a classmate of Andy's at St. Joseph's Seminary. I saw him last at our class reunion at Capp's Restaurant in North Beach last December. Though he was not in the best of health, he greeted old friends like me with enthusiasm and genuine interest. I remember him for his upbeat and unpretentious spirit, his sense of humor, his dedication to serving people, especially students in his role as principal, with respect and understanding, and his overall kindness. My cousin worked with him as a school counselor and had nothing but respect and praise for him as a principal. My condolences and prayers are with his family.

I have many fond memories of Andy and will miss him. He taught me about being a good, thoughtful, generous, diligent member of a team. This is a team player at work (GWHS) and in life. I have never know such a selfless person. God has always walked with Andy and I am a better person in knowing him. Have fun up there. I know you will be greatly missed down here.

I'll always remember Andy for being very tall and always having a huge smile on his face at every family function! He was always very sweet to me and easy to chat with no matter how long it had been since we last met. Now along with my Mom, and Aunt Aine our family has one more angel in heaven looking over us! Sending you all my love!!

Both my wife, Judy and I are saddened by the passing of Andy. I knew him for a short period of time in the seminary and then at SF State. We, as well as John, would attend Newman Club events. He had a successful career in education and can now watch over all of us. Peace to John and the rest of the Kelleher clan. Bob and Judy Curran

To the Kelleher Family,
As a former grade school classmate of Andy's brother, John, at St. Cecilia, it saddenes me to know that we have lost another very fine Cecilian. May the memories of all the good times you had with Andy sustain you...
