Andrew was one of the most caring and genuine people I have ever met in my entire life. I had the privilege of working with Andrew in Family Law and saw him go above and beyond his duties, every single day. He was patient and kind to anyone and everyone he came in contact with. I was out of the country last year when he passed away and was not able to attend. He was a great friend and I will miss our talks about life and family. He truly had a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed. Rest in Paradise, my friend.

Andrew's passing affected me deeply. I met him on the Burlingame High School track, and like everyone else, watched him run so fast in amazement. However, I found out from conversations later that he was more than a runner. He cared deeply for his family and the various communities he belonged to. My biggest regret is not to take him up on his offer to visit Colombia with him.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Andrew's passing. He was such a kind, caring and generous soul. When I think about Andrew's, I smile. When I think about his laugh, I laugh. And when I think about Andrew's kind and thoughtful demeaner, I feel calm. We have truly lost an extraordinary person. My deepest sympathy to his family and to his friends.

I only had the fortune to meet Andrew once, but in that brief time, it became obvious that he was both a gentleman and an adept conversationalist, with a broadness of intellect matched by understanding and sensitivity. He was keenly interested in my branch of his extended family and was a pleasure to know. I wish I knew him better; the world is poorer without him. May he rest in peace.

Andrew was one of the truly good ones ... a just and loving man who gave much to others. I hired him as a mediator for the divorce court services here in Chicago and he served the people extremely well. Both his good heart and intuitive skills aided families in crisis and we mourned his loss when he left us then but this loss is tragic ... a man gone long before his time and a loss to the world. He was unique and is irreplaceable.

Andrew was a man of great integrity and compassion. During my years in Family Court, I relied on Andrew's wisdom and understanding in addressing the needs of families in distress who came before us. I know that the Court will greatly miss him as will so many families that he served. I wish Andrew's family the peace and comfort he was able to provide to so many of us. Judge Patrick J. Dear Jenny, Esther and Daniel I am heartbroken to hear the loss of my dear friend. Thoughtfulness, kindness and patience came shining through in every action that Andrew undertook. My best years at the Marriage and Family Counseling Service are the times Andrew and I were able to work together. Andrew was dedicated to helping families. We also had a lot of laughs at work as well. I cherish the times our families were able to spend time together. I was a better person knowing Andrew. Thinking of you, all of my love Mary Jo

Dear Andrew,
I wish I still had the opportunity to tell you that within the past year you have been the greatest mentor and friend any individual could ask for. My self-confidence, which I had thought I had lost, was rekindled with your kind words and encouragement. Your support and adamant confidence in my abilities will be something I will always carry with me wherever I go. You will be sorrowfully missed.
May you rest in peace.

I will always remember Andy as a kind and giving person with a great sense of humor who enjoyed making others laugh. He was compassionate, intelligent, soft spoken, a deep thinker, and he always cared and tried to empathize with others. In essence, Andy was a giver. He learned about loving and giving at an early age and he learned it from the best; his wonderful parents, Beth and Boyce Wallace, and his big sister, Melody, (my loving and caring sister-in-law). I was blessed to include Andy as my friend and classmate, and double blessed to have him, his wife and step children, his parents and his sister as part of my extended family. We love you and pray that Gods' love, your mutual love, and the love of friends and family sustain you and help you through this painful time. God bless you all.

He was the first person I see in the office
The first person I talk with in the morning
He was the gentle giant who went for the distance
Running with others
Running for others
And tirelessly He did
His mission was always clear
Ease the pain and suffering of people He met
Endless Patience He always had
Compassion and Understanding never ran dry
I don't know any other soul like Him
Andrew was a Gift a Blessing... He was my Amazing Grace
I am forever grateful and will never forget
Much love to the Wallace Family

" During the decade in which Andrew and I worked together as mediators, I learned so much from him. He was one of the most genuine and sincere persons I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
Andrew exemplified the Fruits of the Spirit, and he was truly an example of what it is to be Christ-like; patient, peaceful, loving, and compassionate. He brought a sense of calm and peace to an environment that oftentimes is plagued by contention and discord.
Rest in peace dear Andrew. My condolences to his loving family. I pray you find strength in the Lord. " And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I had the great honor of working with Andrew through the S.F. Family Courts. He was a caring, compassionate, and loving man. I am saddened by this news. His skill of calming even the most angry and unsatisfied clients was amazing. Andrew gave his time so generously to his work and was always willing to do extra to help others. Andrew was also a supportive friend who could sense when I was having a rough day and would find the time to listen with a caring ear. I am privileged to have known him. He touched the lives of many. Andrew was such a caring, curious and compassionate man. We'd sit in his office at the court, most mornings, and have very freewheeling discussions about whatever came up for either of us; sometimes just stream of consciousness. He was such an avid reader and thinker and so very concerned that we should all have a thoughtful practice with our clients. I learned so much from Andrew, in so many ways.
I am so sorry for your loss. He will be remembered with much love.

Dear Andrew, when you departed from Hong Kong for San Francisco in May, we had thought of meeting you in Kowloon Tong before going to church. But finally we did not do so because you were leaving in such a hurry back to US for treatment that might be you're not in that mood to meet friends at that state. In mid-July, when we were travelling to New York for conference, Richard had once considered to stop by San Francisco to visit you. But...we never thought that the meal in April that we shared in Metropolitan Hotel was the last time that we met each other. Though we were not seeing other often, we always had great times together in Hong Kong. We'll remember forever your smiling face, your unfailing passion to lives and your unreserved acceptance to your friends. We are glad that we have known you and share so much great times with you in Hong Kong. Joshua also wanted to thank you for your teaching in Spanish. We are so sad that you leave us so soon. You had always been an angel in many people's lives, now you are being embraced by God. May God comfort Jenny, your parents and your sister.

Our love and deepest condolences are with you and your family today.
We have received the news of Andrew's passing with great sadness. Like you, Andrew meant a lot to our family. When Virginia and I were first married, he was there for us, with support and wisdom. He was also a key person in my life, to understand the reformed, global vision of the ministry to which we are called, from a social and governmental perspective. He took the time to guide me, with patience and logic, that our calling in the Lord manifests itself across creation. His humility and his solid theological education impacted many people here in the United States. He worked diligently to mediate and resolve difficult family cases, and handled their deep wounds with wisdom and love. With his perfect unison of bi-cultural and bilingual capacity, he was able to truly represent the needs of the Hispanic and North American families. Andrew was a Timothy, a man of two cultures, with a solid education and deep commitment to his calling. Because of his impact in my life, and the impact of his parents in my calling and formation, we decided to name our first son, who was born in Chicago, to have his name: Andrew.
Our condolences to you and your whole family. To his wife Jenny, his children Daniel and Esther, his sister Melody and brother-in-law Mike.
You are in our thoughts and prayers, with much love.

We wanted to send you our hugs and our thoughts on the loss of Andy. He was very special to us and will always be in our hearts.
I remember he took over teaching me English when Elizabeth Sims passed away in Cali. so he can be credited for getting me started in learning English. He was always very sweet and very soft spoken. Giving his full attention and sharing that sweet smile.
several sermons that he preached here in Ebenezer come to mind because he always put a special touch on what he was preaching. I remember vividly him going to the pulpit with a couple of suitcases in hand... I don't remember what the sermon was about but I remember those suitcases. Perhaps it was about being ready when the Lord came calling.
Another time he gave us a list of 10 names and asked if we knew who they were. We didn't. But when he mentioned Caleb and Joshua we definitely knew who they were. That sermon was about people who would be remembered for doing what was right and marking a difference in this world. Of standing up for what was right. Andy was like that, he will always be remembered because he marked the difference in many people's lives. Maybe with a word, with a look, with a smile, with a sermon, iwith his friendship.

Dear Aunt Beth, Uncle Boyce, Melodía and Mike, Genny, Esther and Daniel,
Please give Genny and kids my love.
Los acompaño de todo corazón en esta pena. Un gran abrazo para todos. Los quiero mucho.

The Lord has been waking me up early to pray, and of course you are very much in my prayers. As I prayed for you the wonderful words from Deuteronomy came to mind, "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." I looked it up and became aware of something I had not seen before: God is eternal--continuing beyond the limits of our comprehension, yet He sees our weakness and holds us in His everlasting arms. A few lines above this verse I also found a prayer which I will continue to pray for you--as your days, so shall your strength be!
Please know that all of your family is much loved. When you are able, could you please send Jenny's address so I can send a note of sympathy?

I am so very sorry for your loss. I first met Andrew in 2001 at "new mediator" training. I enjoyed talking with him over the years about our work as mediators, about our families, and about running. He was a kind, compassionate, and intelligent soul. He was clearly devoted to his family, dedicated to helping others through his work, and committed to his growth as a person (and as a runner!). I will miss him.

"This is the day, the day that the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it..." Andrew sang this unison with me and my daughter Grace, a niece he deeply loved, in a morning of early July of 2016 at a Rehab home in Burlingame before we left for Hong Kong. Barely strong enough, Andrew sang , knowing that could well be the last unison. Even in such moment, his strength, passion in life and it's beauty, in God and thoughts for others shone through the room as in the rest of his life. Thank you so much, Andrew, for re-authorising my sister's life, brightening her and her children with so much joy, love, wonders and gentle love and care. Thank you for loving our daughter, Grace, running and playing with her or inspiring her with rock climbing videos and your immense curiosity whenever opportunities arose. You were a beautiful soul and your inspiration will not cease. We will always remember you dearly as a uniquely sensitive, gentle, genuine, and loving family member.

I was so sad to hear the news of Andrew's passing. This is a huge loss for the SF family law community. Andrew was a treasure, and he provided invaluable service to so many families, guiding them with his wisdom, patience and gentle caring. I was always so grateful when I learned that one of my cases was assigned to Andrew because I knew that he would be able to help the family. And he did, time and time again. I can only imagine the hundreds of children whose "childhoods" he saved because their parents had the good fortune of sitting down with Andrew, who used his incredible skill to help them work out a parenting plan. My clients really loved him, and I did, too. There's no doubt that he left this world a much better place than he found it. My sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

My image of Andrew is him running at a blistering speed around the Burlingame High School track doing 200 meter intervals. I used to stand and watch in amazement at his speed. It is very sad that he is gone so soon.

Andrew will be so missed by the Family Law community in San Francisco. In his work as a mediator for parents struggling to reach agreements about their children during separation he was known for being kind, gentle, patient, and practical. I appreciated so much his guidance of parents, as well as his mutual respect and collegiality with counsel. Not to mention his smile!

I spoke to Andrew many times at the track. He was the only person I knew who was out there as often (or more) than I was. We talked about running and traveling and his discipline was an inspiration to me. I'm said that he is gone so soon. My prayers go out to Andrew and his family.

I knew Andrew as a fellow mediator and respected him and his work very much. After several lunch time conversations over the years, I sensed that we shared similar values and approaches, and a deep dedication and commitment to the families we worked with. May his light shine, and his family and friends be blessed by his continuing spirit.
