Anita Boyd Obituary

Our dear mother, Anita Boyd, died peacefully at Salem Lutheran Home, Oakland. She was born to Leo and Anna Lust in Banes, Cuba, the fourth of eight children.
She grew up in Butler, NJ, married Edward S. Boyd and raised five children at Packanack Lake, NJ. She was a private tutor in the Carden reading method and earned a Master's degree in special education. She taught at the Richard Butler School, NJ. After retiring in 1989, she transcribed and published the autobiography of her late uncle, Dr. Benedict Lust, Founder of Naturopathy. She moved to Oakland in 2003.
Mother was the center of our family. We will miss her stories, songs and poems. The family thanks the staff of Salem Lutheran Home for their loving care.
She is survived by son, Christopher Boyd, Orchard Park, NY, daughters Elaine Ginnold, Oakland, CA, Jennifer Sosenko, Valencia, CA, and Anne Wein, Denver, CO, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four sisters. She was predeceased by daughter Susan Pass.
A memorial service will be held in Butler, NJ later this year.
