Anne Atkins Robinson

Anne Atkins Robinson passed away on September 20, 2015. She was 93. Anne was born shortly before her twin, Ruth, in San Francisco on November 30, 1921 to David Atkins and Mary de Fremery Atkins. She grew up in San Francisco and at Coastways Ranch. Anne graduated from La Loma Feliz in Santa Barbara and Pomona College. Soon after graduating from college, she enlisted in the U. S. Army. She was a veteran of World War II.
In 1949, Anne married Edward P. Robinson. They moved to Redwood City where they raised a family. Anne was a happy, loving and devoted wife and mother, a creative homemaker and an avid gardener. A lifelong lover of books and libraries, she volunteered for many years in the libraries of her children's schools, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Redwood City and Notre Dame High School in Belmont.
Following the death of her husband, and with her children grown, Anne began to pursue an interest in her family's history and became an enthusiastic genealogist. She was a founding member of the San Mateo County Genealogical Society and an active member of the California Genealogical Society. She volunteered at the libraries of both societies, and particularly enjoyed her work as a member of the book repair group at CGS. In connection with her genealogy activities she developed many dear friendships that sustained her to the end of her life.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Arthur Atkins, and her sisters, Mary Atkins Clayton, Elizabeth Atkins Bradley, Dorothy Atkins Hudson, Susan Atkins de Fremery and her twin, Ruth Atkins Orsborn. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Laura Robinson, her daughter, Ruth Robinson, her son, William Robinson, her grandchildren, Michael and Kerri Robinson, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
