I was a member of Tony's family by marriage throughout the late 60's and 70s until the early 80s. He was my uncle. Since then I have rarely had the opportunity to visit with him but have always felt his support and caring. We would always send Christmas cards and seek each other out at social gatherings we were both at. I, too, remember Tony's great energy, love of gardening, generosity, warmth, humor and love of a "deal", saving a bit by shopping sales. We shared that and a love of the outdoors. I was also privileged to share many days and weeks during the summer with Tony's mom, my children's great grandmother, as we would have her as our guest for extended periods of time. During those years we saw alot of each other. My memories of Tony, Dot and Gramma are cherished ones as we shared stories of gardening, cooking, eating and bargains, as well as camping and backpacking trips he and Dot took. Through his generosity in sharing Gramma with myself and my children, Jen and Jess as toddlers, they got the rare opportunity to know, love and live with their great-grandmother. I loved Gramma dearly and was so grateful for Tony's generosity in sharing and for the obvious kindness and gentleness he and Dot extended to Gramma. When I knew him best he was a man who lived with gusto, who knew the secret of taking pleasure and acceptance in the basic ebbs and flow of each day and of life, who loved and was loyal to family, who had humor and opinions, but was a live and let live guy too. From my perspective this many years later, I think he was a wise and balanced soul. I will miss him and Uncle Tony you won't be forgotten. You are now a part of this earth you so loved and nurtured. Rest in peace. Love you, Sandy Shaw

I had the most positive, well rounded Grandfather I know. His caring serious discussions were always followed by jokes and humor you wouldn't expect. And I will always remember his love of gardening, which I must have gotten from him. I will miss him greatly. love, Adrienne Cummings (Elaines Daughter)
