Anthony Dunleavy Obituary

Anthony P. (Tony) Dunleavy On September 18, 2008 after a year long battle with cancer. Loving partner of Steve Meyer for 29 years. Tony is also survived by his mother. Phyllis Dunleavy; and siblings, Mike Dunkavy, Marie Houston and Trish Hallett (Pat); seven nieces and a nephew; plus a large extended family. He will also be remembered by his many friends and coworkers. Tony was predeceased by his father, Michael. Born in County Clare, Ireland on October 21, 1955. Graduated from San Jose State University in 1980. A longtime resident of the Bay Area, having moved to San Francisco in 1990. Family and friends may visit Tuesday, September 23, 2008 between 4 and 8 PM at the Garden Chapel, 885 El Camino Real, South San Francisco. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 10 AM at Mater Dolorosa Church, 307 Willow Ave., South San Francisco. A Celebration of Life will be held following Mass at the Basque Cultural Center, 599 Railroad St, South San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Tony's name to Project Open Hand, 730 Polk St., San Francisco, CA 94109 or www.openhand.org. COLMA CREMATION & FUNERALS 650 737-1300

I worked with Tony for many years at Callan Associates. I will always remember his kind and gentle nature, always helpful and so very professional. He was a wonderful co-worker, and I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.
