Ashley Williams Obituary

Ashley Williams
October 13, 2023
Ashley Williams passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023, at her Novato home with family members at her side. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and especially so in her final year of dealing with metastatic breast cancer. She lived her youth and young adult life in Point Reyes Station where she graduated from West Marin School and Tomales High School. She could often be seen playing tennis and volleyball, swimming in the Bay, hiking and biking, camping, snowboarding, and of course cleaning Point Reyes beaches. She continued her education endeavors at UC Santa Cruz for an undergraduate degree, Dominican University for master's in education, and San Francisco State University for a master's in administration. She was a beloved educator teaching 5th Grade classes in Marin County schools prior to her final position as Teacher on Special Assignment with the Reed Union School District. She was loved and respected by students, parents, and teachers wherever she worked. Ashley had a gift for making friends her entire life and these were relationships she cherished. She was quick with a warm smile and brought joy to all that knew her. Her very presence inspired others to be better human beings. She met the love of her life Danyel Harrington while they were both working in the Tiburon Schools. They were engaged to be married. Her life ended at the young age of 37 but she will never be forgotten by those she touched in life. Ashley is survived by her fiancé Danyel Harrington, her mother Diane Williams, her father Jack Williams and stepmother Bridget Devlin, her sister Carolyn Williams, her stepbrother Lucas Sawyer and his partner Michelle Dowling, and her pets Corbin, Mac, and Queso. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions in her memory to animal protection charities or environment protection conservancies of your choice.

Heartbroken to hear this news. I remember hiring her as a 5th grade teacher at Mary Silveira Elementary School. She was inspiring, kind, joyful, and was, hands down, one of my nieces, favorite teachers of ALL time. I will never forget her passion for working with children and her "groovy" approach to life...Peace to her family and to Ashley as she embarks on her new journey
