Auden Schraeder Obituary

Auden Schraeder
September 22, 1976 - September 15, 2023
Auden Terraine Schraeder, born September 22, 1976, passed peacefully, surrounded by family on September 15, 2023, after a 3+ year battle with brain cancer. Referred to as, "THE most interesting man in the world", Auden lived a life full of adventure and was known for his sense of humor, strength, and great hair.
He lived in his soul city, San Franciso, working his dream job as a Physician Assistant, when he met the love of his life, Brieanna, who stayed faithfully by his side through rounds of radiation, chemo, and multiple surgeries. Despite his diagnosis, Auden insisted on living life to the fullest, traveling, sailing remote seas, tricking friends into going on grueling hikes, and was an inspiration to many.
He's survived by his wife Brieanna Schraeder-Harvey, parents Jeanne FitzGerald and Tim Schraeder (Camille Schraeder), brother Justin Schraeder (Christa Randall), sister Victoria Kelly (Christopher Kelly), nieces Maya Schraeder, Eliana Schraeder, and Charlotte Kelly and his beloved dog Bobo.

It's been a while since I last worked with Auden at UCSF. He was a tech in the ED for years while he finished up his pre-reqs. Auden was the kind of guy you could call for help and not only would he be there but he'd arrive with a smile and an eagerness to help. And learn. I'm sure he was a great PA as he was always asking questions about a patient's diagnosis or treatment. He really wanted it! I was so proud of him for getting into PA school. Knowing his sense of humor and good energy, I'm sure he was joy to work with. And no doubt his family and friends will miss him. He left us too soon: I never got to hear the end of his sugar glider stories!
