Benjamin Poggi Obituary

Benjamin Emile Poggi

March 31, 1935 - July 2, 2014

A resident of San Francisco, California born to Silvio Poggi and Martha Gonzalez; died peacefully in the care of his beloved sister Gloria Saunders, nieces Julie and Stephanie Saunders. Benjamin is predeceased by his brother William (Bill) Poggi.

He graduated from St. Paul high school. He was an Army Veteran from 1957 to 1963 and was stationed out at Fort Worth Texas, Greenland and Germany.

He was a welder by trade and a general mechanic and was a part of the Teamsters Union.

Benjamin leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Mark, Stephen, Julie, and Stephanie Saunders, Lynn, Susan, Michael and Vincent Poggi.

He was a devoted Bingo player at Doelger's Senior Center with friends: Connie, Gary, Jackie and Joyce. Ben loved to talk about everything and anything.

Memorial services will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:30am.

Uncle Ben was a great man. His attitude was always a joking kind. Sometimes a little brash but overall a very sincere person. You and dad are together again as brothers should be. May you rest in peace.
