Bernice Harlan Obituary

Bernice Bagshaw Harlan

1927-2016

After a brief battle with cancer, Bernice died as she desired, at her own home with her family in attendance. Bernice was born in San Francisco to Bernard A. Bagshaw and Ellen Burbeary Bagshaw. She attended Commerce High School then worked at the Telephone Company, where she met many lifelong friends, before marrying John S. Harlan. After her daughters were born, Be and John moved from The City to sunny San Bruno. Bernice was a longtime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and served in many roles including Helen's Bethany Banner Flyers. She loved the fog rolling over the hills, her little car, licorice, her church community and most of all, her family. Bernice was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, brother Bernard Bagshaw and sister Alice (William) Hanlon. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Fogle (David- deceased) and Elizabeth and son-in law Joseph Falejczyk. Her grandson Harlan Falejczyk was the light of her life. Bernice is also survived by her "little sister" Dolores Bagshaw and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, July 30, 2016 at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2400 Rosewood Drive, San Bruno. 650-589-3711.

Love you Auntie Be. You will be so missed. Thank you for being so good to our family, and loving my dad. Some of my best memories are spending time at your house those weekends that he worked on it. I always felt at home in your home because you made it that way. <3
