Billie Butler Obituary

Billie Butler The first of three children, Billie was born February 29, 1932 in Seligman, Missouri to Lloyd and Mildred Edwards. We often laughed that she only had a birthday every four years. The family moved to San Francisco during World War II. After graduation, Billie worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance until her marriage to Douglas Butler in 1959. Sons Mark and Matthew were born to that union and Billie became a homemaker until the boys were ready for college. She then went back to work at Montgomery Ward to help with their education. Billie had a strong faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and served Him in her own quiet way, including volunteering in the children's department at First Baptist Church in San Francisco. Her later years were marked by multiple strokes and she passed to her reward on May 22, 2011 after suffering a major stroke. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Douglas, their sons Mark and Matthew, brother Thomas and sister Sharon Farley. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, San Francisco or the Gideons International Society. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, SF on Saturday, June 11th at 11 AM.
